Track & Trip Bias Notebook
This page contains our track-by-track and trip-by-trip bias notes, updated after each race meeting. A permanent reference for identifying patterns, optimum running styles, and course quirks.
How To Use This Page
This notebook is a rolling log of how different tracks and trips have been riding β who was suited, who was inconvenienced, and what to remember next time they race.
We update it after key meetings so you can quickly see: Which running styles and draws were favoured. How the ground and pace shape affected results. Which horses are worth upgrading or treating with caution.
Latest Bias Notes (Highlights)
π© Dundalk β 1m & 6f (AW)
Prominent runners and inside/mid draws strongly favoured. Ideal profile: handy types with tactical speed who can hold a position on the rail or just off it.
π© Exeter β 2mβ2m1Β½f Chases
Leaders dominated on tacky βGoodβ ground. Front-runners who jumped cleanly and set a rhythm were very hard to peg back; hold-up horses struggled to get involved.
π© Fontwell β 2m2fβ2m3f Hurdles
Mid-to-late closers best suited. Front-runners who jumped right or kicked too soon paid the price on the figure-of-eight layout.
π© Hexham β 2m4f Chases
Stamina-sapping finish again rewarded strong stayers who could maintain jumping rhythm. Front-runners vulnerable late on the uphill climb.
π© Newcastle β 1m4Β½f (Tapeta)
Prominent-tracking runners favoured, especially those with stamina to see out the uphill finish. Deep closers struggled to make ground.
π© Kelso β 2m7Β½f Chases
Front-runners in rhythm enjoyed a clear edge on slightly sticky ground. Races played out as βpositionβ contests rather than true stamina slogs.
π© Gowran Park β 2m Chases (Heavy)
Prominent stalkers with stamina reserves best suited. Early duels on heavy ground set races up for strong travellers sitting just behind the speed.
π© Aintree β 2m5f National Fences
Midfield-to-prominent travellers with good jumping rhythm prospered. Early front-end aggression was often punished when pace collapsed late.
π© Doncaster β 1m3f200y (Heavy)
Strong late closers from midfield were favoured on very holding ground. Front-runners tended to tire as the test deepened up the straight.
π© Wolverhampton β 5f (Tapeta)
Fast starters and pace-pressers were dominant. Inside/mid draws and early speed remain a big advantage around the bend.
More detailed notes will be added as fresh meetings are reviewed.
